Trustee Opportunities

17th October 2023

"I value collaborating with a diverse group of people, drawing on their skills and experience for the common goal of supporting the direction of Dalkeith CAB to serve the community in the best way possible."  Dalkeith CAB Board Member.

Would you like to give something back to the community? Our Board of Trustees/Directors provides strategic leadership and stewardship of our charity, which provides free, confidential, impartial advice on benefits, debt, housing, employment and other issues.

Dalkeith CAB welcomes applications for the Board of Trustees/Directors all year round. Experience in one or more of the following is an advantage:

- Working in the third sector and/or advice services (paid or voluntary).

- Charity Governance and the legal and regulatory requirements for charities.

- Financial management and/or income generation..

- Human resources, learning and development.

- Committee work and collaborative approaches to decision-making.

- Equality and diversity (in services, staffing and governance.)

- Publicity and promotion.

However, the most important factor is a commitment to the aims and values of Citizens Advice Scotland.

The Board meets bi-monthly (currently via video) and Trustees are asked to commit 4-6 hours per month to the charity. Training is provided and out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed. Trustees ideally should live, work or have a similar connection with Midlothian.

If you are interested in being an Office Bearer on the Board, (e.g. Treasurer), please state this on the application form. Thank you.
